Contact usIRS (Integrated Reception System)
An IRS (Integrated Reception System) is a mix of Satellite, TV and Radio services being combined together for distribution, including commercial Landlord systems to multi dwellings such as flats or apartments.
A typical IRS system would include a satellite and aerial installed at the roof location, cabling will then run to a main headend. At the headend location, varied amplification, filtering and distribution would take place over the designed cabling network infrastructure. Each end user would be connected to this system and would have the ability to receive Digital TV Channels, FM Radio, Digital Radio and the option to subscribe to a satellite provider such as Sky TV. An IRS is designed to utilise coaxial cabling where for a single satellite and aerial setup you would require 5 coaxial cables to distribute the signal through to end users. Due to the signal attenuation over coaxial cable, repeated amplification is required as the network expands further away from the main headend and/or rooftop.
FIRS (Fibre Integrated Reception Systems)
A FIRS (Fibre Integrated Reception Systems) is designed using fibre optic cabling where a single 3mm armoured cable can support several satellites and aerial system setup. A FIRS system can be designed to support 1000’s of connected end users each receiving the same signal levels as if they were connected to their own aerial and satellite dish.
